    Hello people, and thanks in advance for your help and apologies as well for my stupidity.

    I have recently purchased the above DVD copier/burner, and I was aondering;

    1) How do I get started using it, ie installing it?

    2) I got a friend of mine to put the drive into my PC and since then my original DVD/CD drive is no longer locatable on my PC. (The new one is not either.) Is this normal?

    3) What other software do I need to purchase?

    4) Is there a recomended level of DVD blank I should use for optimum performance?

    Many Thanks again for any help you can give me.

    PS I have a Dell Dimension 2400 512mb RAM 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium4.

    From what I read ... your friend installed it.

    Most likely your jumpers are set wrong. Dell uses cable select. My guess ... your dvd/cd drive was set as the master drive (with the jumper set to cable select), then your friend put the NEC drive in. Set the jumper to master also, then plugged in as a slave.

    No need to purchase anything. Try DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter first

    Interesting way of putting that. I say use quality media :)

    Thanks, those copying things are excellent.

    Just one thing, the point two is going well over my head, could you tell me again in lay mans terms, I know very little about computers you see.
