record to sd card from dvd recorder?

    Hi,

    Can a dvd recorder record onto a sd card?
    I have a philips dvd recorder, and
    philips portable dvd player that has an sd card slot.
    I'm curious if there would be a way to record onto an sd card.

    It depends on memory size of SD card. DVD5=4.7GB, DVD9=8.9GB.
    Most movies are on DVD9. You can convert the file to Mpeg4(DivX), it will be around 700MB if your player will play that format.
    SD card is the same as Hard drive. I do not have portable player, but assume if it can access SD card it should work.
