I apologise in advance if I am in the wrong forum but is there a way I can burn just the music as a .wav file from a dvd(vob)or mpeg file.

You want to [bold]Demux[/bold] the audio stream from the video stream? If you are using DVDs as a source you can use [bold]DVD Decrypter[/bold] to do it. Afterward, use [bold]BeSweet[/bold] or [bold]HeadAC3he[/bold] to convert the AC3 file to a Wave file.

If you need any futher assistance just ask!

The source file is a converted avi, converted with winavi video converter,so the files are vob files.DVD decrypter wont recognise these files so is there another way/program that will do this?

If you have the AVI, you can demux the audio from it using VirtualDub (or VDubMod or my personal favorite, NanDub).
The audio will probably be MP3 format, but possibly AC3. Either could be decompressed to WAV.
I use stream processing to demux DVD audio to a separate file; DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper will do this.
If you have VOBs that these two programs won't recognise, you'd better go back to 'Plan A' - try to work from the source (the AVI).
    Regards
