Does someone know of a link where I can read up on the legality issues of this? Lets say for example I record the SuperBowl on my TiVo and then transfer it to DVD so I can watch it anytime I like. Is this legal? I assume this would fall under whatever laws are in place for recording straight to VHS or DVD from a TV, Cable, or Satellite signal.

    Thanks

I dont think its highly illegal if it's for your own use, most likely is illegal but i would not worry about using it for your own use. Just look at VHS's people have been recording of tv for years. As long as you dont put it on the net or start selling it i would not worry too much.

Hope this info is of some help.

legally you cannot record a program like the superbowl. thats why they have those lame warnings on the beginning and end "this program cannot be recorded, copied or rebroadcast without the written consent of FOX and the NFL..."
