well i know word creates a backup of unsaved files in format .asd
but iam interested, would these files still be there if you shut down your computer?

also, does anybody else know any other ways in which to recover unsaved word documents on your computer?

    kateman-
I know it has been awhile so you may have already found a solution. I'm not 100% sure if it works once the computer has been rebooted, but there are applications that you can use to help recover deleted files. Here is a link to the programs. Link

This is another site I found with a free utility called restoration. You may give it a try as well. Link

    Good luck!
