As the thread says, I tried to do the fan mod on my console because it kept hanging during play because of overheating. Now all I get is a red light on the power brick when I try an turn the xbox on. I've tested the brick on other consoles and it works fine, could I have blown something on the mobo?

Since the red light I've removed the wires and the fan completely. I still get a red light. I tried using a mosfet under the dvd rom for the mod.

I tried that but the fans didn't work at all. Guess I'll try an replace the mosfet. I think I saw ur name in one of the how to replace a mosfet threads? Yes?

i dont think so, i have replaced a lot of them though, its a real pain, they are very hard to get off the board! use a lot of flux and a good solder wick, thats my best advice!
