I have scanned for spy ware and viruses. In one of the scans it found this w32 virus and it said it got rid of it but i still have it. Almost every single website links redirects me to websites I've never been on. Can someone please help, urgently. I'm running dell dimension 4700 and have windows xp.

It's probably not a virus, but spyware. If it's w32 I guess you have Norton Antivirus, which doesn't scan for spyware. Download Lavasoft Ad-Aware and scan with that.

It will delete all your temporary files that have accumulated over the years, and you should see a rather big increase in system performance because of it. It will delete files in the recycling bin, windows temp fiels, browsing history, browsing temp files, browsing cookies, and more. It is ok to do it.
    ------------------------------------------------

Did you fix the things I told you to fix? It seems like the new log contains all of the same things.

ok, open up HJT, run a new scan, and once that's finished, put a check next to the things I wanted you to fix, then click the butten that says "fixed checked" in the bottom right hand corner of HJT. Once thats finished, run HJT again, and post the log in tour next post.

    Ok, fix these:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://search.blueyonder.co.uk/search/search.jsp

ALL OF THE 017 ENTRIES, which include:

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{0FCA36CE-9D2A-46FA-A70D-B1736581D74A}: NameServer = 85.255.114.110,85.255.112.229

    All the way to:

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.110 85.255.112.229

    and then this one:

    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: pushow24.dll

once you've finished that, post a new log here again!
