    Hey

    I was just wondering...
Can you reformat a laptop, exactly as you would a normal computer?
I have reformatted my computer many times, but my parent's laptop is playing up alot and I think it would be best just to reformat for them (then find software to lock down all the administrative rights so it doesn't happen again :)

I would be installing XP with SP2.

    Thanks agian.

PS: Yes it does have a CD-Rom drive.

yes, just use the partitioner on the windows install disc and select format and delete. then just install and everything is as good as new.

Does the laptop need any special drivers tho? Like for the mouse to function, etc.

I don't know if we still have the discs which came with the laptop so...might be tricky finding it.

the xp install disc has drivers for laptops so there shouldnt be any problems with the mouse. but you might have to find other stuff like graphics or ethernet drivers. you can find them on the manufacturers website so you dont need the discs. all you need is a xp install disc
