region 1 dvd burner needs to burn dvds to play in region 2

    Hey All,
    I am trying to burn DVD's to play in region 2. My burners are set to region 1. If i simply change the region on the DVD will i be able to burn to region 2 then.
    Could be a dumb question, but i just don't know.

    Hello monk65, you should make your backups region-free.I use dvd shrink 3.2 and leave it set on region free. Most programs should have this setting. What programs are you using?Later

    hey, thanks for the quick response.
    I use roxio easy cd/dvd creator. Should i use something else. If i burn something region free can any dvd player in region 2 play it.

    If you have an app that allows you to re-encode a region free disc, then yeah that's all you gotta do, just set it "Region Free". I don't know if Roxio has that option or not, I would download either DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter, or better yet BOTH from here. They both have that option with them. :)
