   I was checkin out software in my local game store an they had a disc which u could insert in a Playstation 2 an it would make the dvd drive multiregion..is there software available for my stand-alone DVD player..like a program i could d/l , burn to disc and play in my DVD player an allow me to be region free? thx

   Nope, you need to mod your player -- most of the DVD stores in Europe do this, but it costs cash (depends on brand and model how much).
