I couldn't find an answer to this via search, so sorry if this has already been asked.

I was wondering if there was a way to remove or make the buttons transparent within the menu builder of Nero Vision Express 3. I'm making an episodic DVD and with the exception of the background, am trying to build a text only menu. Thanks.

I don't think you can. You could possibly try and use the "Use No Frame" button and then somehow get a clip that would be the same color as the menu background. Cut the shadow and set the button action to 0 opacity. I messed around with it for a while but could not come up with anything that I would ever use.

DVD-Lab is more advanced than Nero Vision and will let you do this plus a lot more.
It has a 30 day free trial and then you have to buy it for $99.00.
