Restart all time

    earlier i was on rugby o5 sudenly the computer shut down i turned it on after 5 mins nothing open just msn it happend again then i got concernd thatsomat was up i went in to bios and checked health status

    Cpu 66 c fan 3500 rpm
    case 52 c fan 3126 rmp

    after 2 mins

    it was fine till today i not touched ought tho in ages inside

    what are the system specs like cpu & where are you located as it does seem to be a bit warm in your computer!!

    radeon 9800pro 356mb
    512 mb ddr ram
    dvd +/- rw
    cd/r
    hard drive
    2 case fansa 1 blowing in 1 going out
    power surply wat came with case no more space for fans either

    abit sg72 mother board
    located in england

    it's a p4 not p3 that you have. has the temp been like this all the time or just recent. is the computer a name brand(like ibm)or a clone(local computer store)??

    i built it my self ages ago the temp as got higher in the last few months but nothining like at the moment.

    Blow all the dust out of the psu thats the power supply unit i use a hoover for the job and wile your there get all the dust out the case leave the side of the case put the computer on if it doesnt go of after a few hours then it was a heat problem, if it does go of get a new power supply unit......

    wheres best place to get a new psu an a extra few cxase fans. i touched the case on psu and thats hot so will replace

    is the psu fan spinning?? if not either replace fan or lubricate it as i've done that a # of times for videcard, psu, case & cpus

    Just a couple of other notes along with what ddp suggests...

    Make sure that the CPU heatsink is still firmly attached to your CPU and didn't come loose on a corner. 66c is way to hot for a P4 at Idle temp. There is always a way to get more fans in the case if you try. Does the front of your case have a foam pad over the fan inlet or front side of your PC?

    ok all fans seem to be working the case temp sems very hot. Cpu fan is fine. I have to grill things and back for 2 fan 2 ayt front for 2 only i got 1 fan each side as no place to connect any moreto power surpy or boared every thing is duet free

    can get fans with 5.25 power connectors & daisey chain them

    what are these. My power surply will need upgradeing as well as it some times strugles as it is. Any good site for a cheap one.

    need about a 400 wat shall i order frm there or is there a better place to get one from

    could try newegg.com, tigerdirect or your local computer store. if your computer is a dell or compaq then might have to get 1 of their psu. if a clone computer almost any psu will fit your case
