I need to be able to rip a 2-3 minute segment from a DVD movie into a MPEG or AVI file. Any suggestions on software that will do this and the process. Thanks!

    Hi.

    Try the latest TMPGEnc(ver.2.57.41.146).
You can use your vob:s as video source in TMPGEnc.

I tried TMPEnc and it won't work the way TheFlyer says. I have had good luck with DVD2AVI, you can find it at http://arbor.ee.ntu.edu.tw/~jackei/dvd2avi/. You can rip straight off your DVD drive to a file, pick the CODEC of your choice, and select the piece of video you want to rip.
My only complaint is there is a slight artifact in the video. I have some DVDs from movies I have worked on and would like to get the highest quality possible, if anyone knows of a better solution I would love to hear it.

    Hello

I've got a problem with smart ripper & vstrip!!!!
When i select all the chapters (the whole movie), it starts ripping, but after it outputs at least 4gigs, it gives me this message: "Quit ripping?" The percent complete : 93%

I used vstrip.....it later said Error: Disk full? LBA" something like that.
    I have an AMD 1.7GHz and a WD 40Gigs with 30Gigs free!

    Can someone help me please?

    Thanks
