I'm trying to rip my Matrix trilogy DVD's so I can take all the best bits of the three movies, stick them all together and burn the result to one DVD as one long movie. What would be the best programs for doing this? Obviously I'm after the best quality final result as I can get, thanks.

It might be too much to rip and burn for one dvd.Anyway try DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.Shrink the movies so you can burn all of them to one dvd disc.Hope this helps!

Well I'm planning on taking loads of bits out and making a 3 or 4 hour film in the end. I've tried I'mTooDVDRipper and DVD Decrypter but the quality isn't excellent. You can kind of see lines at the edges of people's faces and the motion can be a bit strange sometimes, kind of like watching an ok but not brilliant copy.

If you can rip the movie with Decrypter, than I would use TMPGEnc Xpress (not free) for cutting clips and put them all together.
3-4 hour film will need DVD9 to get some decent quality.
You should have minimum 4000kbs for encoding or higher (better).

If it is a copy you do not have to use any of the rippers. You should be able to make direct copy of the disk with any copy software.
Are you sure that original copy is Mpeg2 or is it Mpeg4?
