Can somebody shed some light on the capacity of 4.7GB disc? I am unable to burn 4.5GB on a RITEK DVD-R. This is all data and burned on Mac?
    Regards

The maximum amount of data that can be burnt on a 4.7GB disc, is in fact 4.438GB. This is due to 1000MB, not being a GB. In actual fact 1024MB is one GB. So the discrepincies are down to this. The problem you are having is perfectly normal, andi s not actually a problem.

Thank you oriphus. Do you happen to know the rationale behind this? Why the decision to use 1KB=1000bits was made instead of the newer one where 1KB=1024bytes? Just out of curiosity?...
    Thank you again!
(Just for a comment: that character looks like One Mean Castrating Machine... LOL)
