Rules are good, keeps us all on the same page.

Please, can everyone be forced to read rules by entering in a confirmation number before they post in any one particular forum?

Or, would that be too strenous of a dbase to keep?

    Just a thought!

    Greetings

That's something I'd love to see but the same people who already don't read the rules would just scroll through it without reading it anyway. A lot of the threads I see on the forum that I mainly post on could be answered by the first rule-
    1. Before starting a new thread, use SEARCH first (located on top of the page..) to see if your question has been answered before!

Good idea, but I could see it deter alot of users that they have to go through that process every time they posted.
Aswell people who would reply, would have to go through the same process aswell.

That is why we have moderators here to monitor the 'rule breakers' and give them the warnings that way.
I have a good buddy here who is a mod, and I know it is tuff enough to keep on top of it - they all do an [bold]excellent job[/bold], so it would be quite difficult to implement someting to restrict those occurances without restricting the majority of us that observe/understand the rules completely.

It is upto the individual at the end of the day to read the rules, and if they don't they will be warned, and then they won't probably last too long here.

Nice to see junior members showing concerns over the site...........

Who knows, post enough threads/replies and soon you maybe moderating this site............

baabaa, thank-you, and yes, the concern is there. It is quite apparent to me since I've been here, what an excellent site this is.

I like the fact of same-day service for any questions I might have, and the replies are excellent.

There's lots of knowledge here. T'is good!

I concur, the mods here are excellent.

It's a good idea, but it would be awfully time consuming. Plus, people STILL won't read the rules, even if you try to force them to.

Could give 'em a quiz at the end.

What happens when you post the same question in a brand new thread in every single forum?

    a) Receive an award and a free AD t-shirt
    b) Become the official loser of the year and get your pic posted on Google's home page
    c) Your computer blows up and sends flaming shrapnel into your face
    d) All of the above

How about if they type any of these words to start a new thread there computer blows up!! Or at least they get automatically banned for being ignorant!

    1. Little Black Book
    2. RE2 or Resident Evil
    3. The Forgotten
    4. Whats better -R or +R
    5. Which media is best?
    6. crc error
    7. LBB/RE2/Forgotten (I know these were worth mentioning twice) LOL double post!!
    8. Help?? That one really gets me.. ha ha ha

I know there are more, but man these are getting pretty ridiculous. What makes it worse is you can tell them in a very polite manner to do a search and even post a few links for them, and they get irrate with you, and then someone else comes along and posts the fix for them in the thread anyway...

OK I am just venting forgive me :) I still love AD and wouldnt change a thing...
