Please help I'm at wits end and appreciate any help!

My laptop is screwed. Hard drive failure and very suddenly. Working one minute dying the next.

I have an external hard drive. (1tb) of storage connecting through a USB 3.0

I have windows 7 and can't load the computer normally. When it does load I can't access anything or any folders.

In safe mode everything works fine but can't see the external hard drive. I can use a SD card and it shows up fine in safe mode. When I use the external drive I can't see it.

Please help or advise? If I'm not making myself clear please ask. I'm stuck!

Thanks for the reply. I may have solved it and found a way of getting the drive to show up in safe mode.

When I get back on comp (typing from cell phone) I will link what I found and what worked. It was basically going to command and clearing the drive and then re assigning it.
