I thought titles wouldn't cross on dvd-a and sacd but I just looked on circuit city's website and Shania Twain UP is out on sacd and you can pre-order it on dvd-a. The same with Frampton comes alive.http://dvdaudiodaily.com/cgi-bin/FrameIt.cgi?Url=http://www.audioworld.org/blog/kevin/000036.shtml&ConfigFile=FrameIt.cfg
    Interesting reading

Jesus! That's not interesting, but downright scary. SACD just isn't as good as DVDA. See
    http://www.discwelder.com/pdfs/1-Bit SD is Unsuitable paper.pdf
I know it's on the discwelder site, but it is an AES paper and really should be taken seriously IMO.
I have many more like this, including a very illuminating plot of just how much ultrasonic noise is present in DSD/SACD above the 22KHz region. The damage this is capable of doing to your amps, speakers & mental well being is simply scary.
Hopefully the sale either won't go through - the much publicised merger with EMI didn't happen after all, or else there will be caveats in the deal.
The thought of the mad rush into huge corporations is worrying, and seriously bad news for our industry.

I read this paper and it actually consered me. Its from University of Waterloo, which makes me believe it (I did my undergrad there). But it is pre reviewed, so you have to take it as is with out scientific critism (Not peer reviewed yet). Thanks for the link wilkes and this does consern me as the music industry lookes like it is leaning to SACD in Canada, as it has CD in the title. I know this is completly stupid, but when talking to general people DVD means movies and CD means music. So SACD (Super audio CD) makes the average person think or a really good CD. Whereas DVD-A you have to explain to them, where is the movie? But you said it was a DVD? So for pure stupidity, SACD are more available and seem like will be the format to catch on here._X_X_X_X_X_[small]I am not a number

Interesting point you have there. I'm not entirely sure I agree, as more & more people are getting used to music DVD, albeit DVD-Video.
Still, with Sony's huge losses $1bn last quarter, who knows. Warners are sticking with DVDA though - I'll try & find the link and post back later.
