Dear ALL, Have a Samsung 18x DVD burner in and it is not functioning. If I look up the driver it keeps telling me that it is the most current version but does not even recognise that the hardware is installed. So in frustration I have uninstalled the software in the hope of finding a new copy on the net. Where can I download a free copy of the correct driver software? Do I have to physically reinstall the drive because I have uninstalled the old software driver.

One of the things that is overlooked when installing a new drive is setting the jumper to the correct setting(master or slave). Are you sure your's are set correctly?
