Is there any real difference between these two brands?

And also, where did you guys buy your memory sticks? I'm looking at newegg.com and the prices seem reasonable although if you guys got any other suggestions or recommendations, I'd like to hear them too.

Oh, and is using a 8gb compatible? I've been hearing iffy things about a 8gb stick and how my friends stuck to using 2gb ones.

OK... Well first of all, sony memory sticks are not the best. They haven't given me problems, but lexar and sandisk are known well. I suggest a sandisk. They last long and I hear they are excellent for playing games, so go with a sandisk, not a sony. Lexar is fine too, but preferably SD.
