is there anyway to save the configuration settings on the memory card? after i changed the disc speed and diagnostic on the ps2 before the main menu, is there anyway to save it? its annoying to have to change it everytime i open the ps2.

No every time you turn your PS2 off using the main power button on the back of the unit, your settings will be lost.
