screensaver not working

i seem to have no screensaver working when the computer is idle, i have tried to change the mins and been to microsoft for help no joy there, can anyone tell me why all of a sudden the screensaver has stopped working, i have even left it blank rebooted still no joy.
any help would be good.
please don't be too technical as i am a novice.
screen saver was fine 1 week ago i have restored no joy.

try selecting the preview button and see if you get the screen saver you selected.

tried preview this works but screen saver does not, no matter what mins i set screensaver just will not come on
