I recently purchased some DVD movies from overseas and I noticed that if you hold the DVD's up to the light, you can see straight through anywhere there is lettering. The label is in full colour but there's just no print where the lettering is. It's like the lettering has been etched out of the label and left a clear view through the disk.
I only became aware of this because the DVD can not be recognised in my Pioneer AO7 but plays fine in my Philips home theatre unit.
It's got me stuffed how the DVD can work as it appears as if there is no data on a lot of the disk.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    Peter

    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, these were bought from Asia too. I've never seen anything like them, but they work fine in my main DVD player, just not in my Pioneer in my PC.
