So I have a v.7 PS2 (39004). Now I'm reading that this version can't boot some games. To what extent? Is it not worth chipping v.7 at all?
I need answers please, as I'm planning on maybe chipping it in a couple of days. (BTW I've checked, and it does read DVDr)

it's not the V7 that can't boot some games... it's the combination of a magic 3.1 with V7. As long as you get one of the newer mods (magic V,duo2,dms3/4,matrix infinity) you'll be fine.
