After having used DVDShrink 3.2 for a few weeks to backup movies without any significant problems, I now am stymied. Recently, DVDShrink has aborted, generating the following error message:

[bold] Failed to write the file [destination]
A defice attached to the system is not functioning.[/bold]

The current example is My Fair Lady.

I am running DVDShrink 3.2 with Windows XP, SP2; Soyo SY-P4RC30 MB; Intel Celeron 320D (2.4GHz); 1Gig DDR Ram; two 160GB hard drives; LG 4163b DVD burner.

FWIW, I also get the same error message when trying to use CloneDVD2 (which I had been using before I found my way to Shrink). I've also gotten it with Nero Recode and DVD Rebuilder.

If I need to provide additional information, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your burner may not be connected. Check the Device manager for the burner and the secondary IDE channel.
