shrink my mpeg to fit on dvd

    i have a mpeg that is 1.4 g long which i which to put onto dvd, i have tried using nero but when, aftera very long time it has converted it to dvd quality the film is to long some 5 ish gigs, is there any way i can get round this, a mpeg shrinker perhaps

    well there are two ways you could do it....

    First encode the MPEG to a VOB file using one of the many mpg to DVD guides on this site. Then use something like DVDShrink to remaster the new VOB file to a specific size.

    Or second, use TMPGEnc to re-encode the mpeg file at a lower quality and proceed as you were doing before.

    Is this Nero 6? Are there any options in it to tweak the burning to DVD?
