Im encoding a DVD(shrink 3.2 and Nero) and it is taking me 1:
45 hours long, to encode. I know that is slow. Is this becasue
of my CPU its and Atholn 1.67 Ghz/1.00 GB of Ram. Also, 1
gig of Ram. I have gone onto message boards and read that
you can make DVD drive faster my switching DMA Primwary to
a PIO. However, I didnt notice any difference(do I have restart
the compter Dont want to becaue I have 41 min left for now)
and I switch secondary to also. Do, you know a faster way or
easier way to encode to make go faster? When I open the the
disk/DVD it takes 2mintues. Also, Im knew to PC. I have been
using Apple for many years for my work and Im not sure what
    PIO and DMA is?

    veckholm--
Go back into Device Manager and change back to DMA if available--stands for Direct Memory Access and is quite a bit faster than Pio--then re-boot--If you have used Shrink before successfully, then try again--45 minutes is not too bad--especially if you have the quality enhancements checked--Also do NOT use your PC for anything else--make sure all background programs are OFF--let us know how you make out
