I have a lot of divx movies on my computer, and they are taking up too much space. Each file is about 700-800 mb...or about 1 cd-r. Is there a way i can shrink these files down just to store on a cd so i don't need 1 cd for every movie?

You could use DVD's instead. About the same price as a blank CDR anyway.
If you want them smaller then you simply need to re-encode them at a lower bitrate. Might want to drop the res whilst you are at it.
