I don't know if anyone else noticed this, or if anyone even cares, but I discovered something interesting regarding some forced subtitles when shrunk using Shrink's disc re-authoring mode... Some movies, like Kill Bill, Lord of the Rings (FOTR), Star Wars (ANH), and others have forced subtitles that will not automatically play, even if the subtitles are correctly decoded, shrunk, and burned to a blank DVD. In order to get the subtitles to appear, the viewer has to manually set the option using the DVD player's settings (usually a button on the remote). However, if the DVD is shrunk using Shrink's full disc mode, the subtitles will automatically play (the way they are supposed to play). With that said, it appears there must be some file within the menu section of the DVD (the part most people do not include when re-authoring a DVD) that enables the automatic subtitles. The potential problem is if you shrink a DVD using the re-authoring mode (even if you include the subtitles), you must remember to manually set subtitles on your player or you might miss forced (and often important) subtitles you didn't even know existed. Take it for what it's worth, but hopefully this info will help some people.
