I ripped Original Kings of Comedy, about 1:50 running time and resolution of 352x240, but the file is huge, like 1.2GB! How can I shrink this down? Is this because I selected high quality in the conversion process? Some movies I see are great quality and 700 resolution but size is under 800MB, how is that done?

    thanks

    ps I used smartRipper

I assume you encoded the movie into VideoCD/MPEG-1 format? If that's the case, the size is normal -- 74minutes of VideoCD-compliant MPEG-1 video takes 740 megs. These movies can be played with regular stand-alone DVD players.

Those small movies are in DivX format. And those movies can't be played with DVD players.
