    Hi All,
    Can anyone tell me if i can use my Sky+Box to view freview channels as i can no longer afford to subscribe but still have the box?

    you should get the bbcs and itvs etc to work but cannot get the recording side to work or view without a sub in case you thought you could.

    as cactikid saysthe recording function will probably be disabled so you wont be able to record. you can view all the free to air channels and there are quite a few and just about every quality free channel will be viewable from the epg guide ,but if your in ireland you will have to do a manual frequency scan for a few channels such as five usa /five * and channel 5 .

    i live in ireland and i have free to air using a sky plus box.
    chl.4,5 chl five usa/five are on epg guide-no need to do a freq.scan.
    my question however is-can you use a sky + HD box for free to air?

    yes you can use any sky box to view the free to air channels ,but you will find there are few free to air hd channels .

    I am currently still with Sky for a couple more weeks,i will let you know when i try it.

    i am still awaiting the results of your test spudster?my tests indicate that you cannot get f.t.a on a sky +HD box.Id like to be proved wrong.
    on a sky + HD box.

    Take out your sly card from the box and the channels that clear for you will be the channels that you can receive for free.

    A Sky box will get you FTA cans if you are not subbed, regardless of it being a HD or not, you will get FTA as Dave mentions above

    and many other channels if you check lyngsat and program these values into your box
