Hi...ive got a Canon 50d SLR and started trying out the slideshow function with the usb cable that comes with the camera.

the strange thing is when i plug directly into the tv it will work on older tv's but not on newer ones ??? it's just got one yellow av jack from the usb port on the camera.

    Any ideas ?

I don't have the 50D but I have the 5D Mark II which is close to yours because it was released just before the new 5D was released. My USB cable (which hooks up to the camera) has a red & white jacks for audio and a yellow jack for video. I plug the jacks into one of the inputs of the TV and then turn on the camera.... use the > (play) button ..... it will view on the TV screen instead of your 3" LCD on back of the camera. Works fine with my TVs... old and new!

did I mention to navigate to the correct INPUT on your TV?
