I used to do this alot with the fat PS2, and I used to use the PSX exploit. Well, I picked me up a slim PS2 from my local shop, and found that the PSX exploit wont work on this. Its a 7000 series slim, and the laser is in epic condition for a PS2.

Heres my problem. I want to play modified versions of my games, and a few imports I have. I was hoping to install this new mcboot thing, but all of my attempts tonight have failed. I have a Sony 8MB memory card, a 128MB USB drive, and the following 2 cheat discs:

Action Replay (NOT MAX OR EVO, SO NO MEDIA PLAYER)
Gameshark Greatest Hits (Seems to have no USB support at all)

I tried using their swap method as well, and I used the only game I have from the list (BattleField 2). Once I swapped, I attempted to go to the online menu, but was booted to the dreaded red screen. I tried swapping at all sorts of different points and either black screened it or red screened it.

Any clue on how I can do this would be great. My mate has a FAT ps2, but he wouldnt have me open it, and it wont play CDs at all (blue PS2, PSX, music, etc). Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thought I would come back with some updated news. I picked up a demo disc from the same shop. Took it home, and tried replacing the hulk demo with ulaunchelf (using apache, changing elf size, replacing it with ulaunchelf, and reburning the iso).

I start the standard demo disc, hover over hulk demo, hotswap with my burned game, and select the hulk demo. Here the screen flashes a few times, before the red screen of death.

Is the slim PS2 unmodable? Its a 7000 series, not the 90000 series I hear horrible stories about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
