Ha ha! I was unaware of this thread. Subscribed! I just bought(yes, Bought) the new avatar movie, and it looks like it has the latest BD+ encryption. I anxiously await an update.
Though it would appear, the store bought version of the DVD is not overly protected :p

Yeah I actually bought the BR-DVD combo pack for $20 at Walmart. Had no problem backing up the DVD to DL +R (ImgBurn)and +R (Recode)using anyDVD. The DL played flawlessly-looked nice upconverted.

I have no way to play the BR disc as yet but will decide in the future which way to go there.

looked like crap on my 50" 720P plasma. But I kept the menus and trivial extras. Not that the picture would have improved by much. 200Mb would be a trivial amount for a 2:41min video...

Tried the Beta 6.4.4.0, turned out to be buggy, kept giving me an error message about drives not being recognized, upgraded to Beta version 6.4.4.2 and this one seems to be running fine.

Oops, mistyped the numbers, meant to say 6.6.4.2, it was 6.6.4.0 that was the buggy one. 6.6.3.0 couldn't handle "Leap Year" Yes, I rip chick flicks for the wife to watch on her netbook during those slow PM shifts at work.
