I understand LT 2.0 is coming out shortly that will enable us to play our old backups again, but what happens when the new discs start to arrive? It was my understanding that the extra gig of data on the new discs would make it so we couldn't use standard DL's anymore.

I thought the XGD3 stuff just made more data squeeze into a DL? Wouldn't doubt there might be a new way we'll have to do the back-ups

this will only effect titles from release date only, they have no way of making old game discs have the extra protection area, the added data will only have to be ripped to the newer games that will be coming out.
