Is there a software/program that can be used to detect recording errors (especially those that will affect playback such as freezing) on dvd-r's? Versus having to watch the whole dvd-r.

    Hi,

DVD Info Pro has a feature to scan for read errors.

Nero's CD/DVD Speed tool has a Scandisc feature.

If you own a Lite On burner you can use K-Probe to scan for PI/PO errors.

If you own a Plextor PX-712A you can use PlexTools to scan for PI/PO errors.

You can also run the copy through DVD Shrink's quick analysis to turn up errors :)

in theory burning with nero should also enable you to validat the data.. this basically checks bit for bit with what is on you HD... so if its cant read anything then it would fail... ?
