    hello,

i need lots of help for my issue, i cannot seem to solder the wires to the chip that has the super close pins (i think it's the bios chip).

i have a v1 mobo and trying to solder in the magic 3.1 real. Any tips? tricks? and also i bridged about 3 pins together, any ideas of how to remove this bridge?

    Thanks,
    Dan.

A desoldering braid should get the bridges off or a desoldering pump.

Tips use the razer-technique: in short put a razor with liquid paper between the legs of the chip to prevent it from being bridged and use a low power soldering iron 15w with the smallest tip you can get.
Also enamalled copper wire is advised because of its size.

Read all about it on page 2 of a messiah 2 install guide.

Try something they call a soldapult at radio shack. You cock it and pull the trigger after the 'heat in' and it creates a quick vac of air to yank the molten solder. Ya gotta do it quick man cause youll overheat the legs on that IC and puke it out. I always hated wick myself.
Suck bulbs and that heated sucker thing they sell are no good for what your doing.

Also known as a desoldering pump.

try 30 AWG bare wire. Put bare wire and solder tip on bridge. The solder will stick to the bare wire. Works when desperate. Solder sucker....sucks! The BIOS is surface-mount, don't want to heat it up too much. Bare wire is fairly safe.
