Lately when I put in a DVD to backup nothing recognizes it. The only program that does is DVD decrypter. No media player sees it, not DVD shrink. This happened before, and I just updated the firmware on my DVD drive, is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Right now I have to read with DVD Decrypter, then shrink with DVD shrink, then burn with DVD decrypter. Is there a simpler way?

A media player would not recognise a blank DVD. With Shrink there is a drop down box to select the correct drive. If still no luck go into properties for the drive and make sure all the settings are correct (access properties by right clicking on the drive).

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Shrink, making sure you have the latest version.
