I just got the Sony DRU-500A DVD burner.

Is there any other burning software that supports this drive besides the crappy Veritas software it comes with?

I know its brand new, but that software just isn't cutting it.

Last night I was attempting to burn a DVD-9 DVD split onto 2 blanks. 1 was around 4.5GB and the other was around 3.2GB.

When I attempted to burn it... it wouldn't do either disks? It returned a message that said the data would be too large to fit on the blank. This cannot be true. Also, the DVD rips played perfectly through IfoEdit's DVD PLAY option.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm guessing its the buring software...

I think it is the media you are using. I have found that the latest version of Nero is supporting the drive.

    4.5GB is too big
    isn't the maximum 4.35GB on a 4.7GB disc?
