Hi, I have a four year old DVP-S705D player which has been working perfectly up until recently where whilst playing a DVD, the picture may suddenly pause, skip to a different chapter, have picture and sound corruption, or not respond to fast forwarding or rewinding. Turning the unit on and off again may make it work OK for a while before this starts happening all over again. Seems to happen with any DVD at random times, hot or cold. I have tried cleaning the lens but this did not make any difference. Have others heard or seen this problem before? I would like to know how I can rectify this really annoying issue. Any help appreciated! Thanks heaps.

i had a old dvd player for about 5 fives and it started jumping etc, found out it was the laser

it was cheaper to buy a new dvd player for 69 pounds from argos than to replace the laser unit itself
