HI, I have a sony handicam that I am trying to get connected to my computer via firewire. I have done it before, but it was on another computer. I just built this computer and don't know why it is not connecting to the camera??? I don't know if there are some special drivers that I need...I am running windows XP SP2. The computer does not even recognize that anything has occured when I connect it.
No, you should not need any drivers. Sound like either a defective card or a cable. First thing to chekc if the Firewire card shows up in the Device Manager.
