    Hi guys

I have a Sony Vaio RX830 and I look at the specs on the sony website and it say it reads at 4x and wites at 2x. Using Nero I was only able to write at 1x and using DVDDecrypter is able to read at 2x. Is there any ways to speed it up, maybe my media (I use TDK DVD-R), I don't know...any suggestion.

I recently purchased the same machine and am having similar problems. Did anyone have any luck in finding a solution for this machine?

Well, I was able to burn at 2X because my media, before you click "write" insert the blank DVD-R and then it will recognize that its a DVD-R 2X and give you the option to burn at that speed. My mistake was I'll click write before inserting the disk and then it will prompt me to insert disk, so I did, and it wouldn't give me no option to increase to 2x. For the rip speed check out this thread

thats should answer all you question, you should be able to write at 2x and rip at about 2x.

    Good Luck
