Verbatim is the first to pass certification for the new DVD+R9 discs. They should be available at the end of May per thier press release here:

The DVD+RW alliance is the first to come out with a spec for burning Dual Layers, but DVD-R says its not far behind and will also have a format available. According to Sony (my friend has this drive and has called them on it) there will be firmware updates that allow it to burn Both types of Dual Layer Media when it becomes available.
