I have a Sony stereo that had surround sound but the surround sound no longer works. The speakers are the standard wire input. What I want to know is whether you can convert these to AV plugs so I can use these with my DVD player

Yeah, the reciever in the stereo doesn't work, so I was hoping to use the speakers for my DVD instead.

there is NO amp inside the DVD player to make the speakers work so thats not an option. getting a new receiver is the only way to fix the problem
