splitting in half avi

man I got the movie underworld from a lan party, but I want to put it on a cd(vcd nero) but I need to split the file to fit onto 2 cds. In properties it says its a video clip file.I like to think I'm good with computers but the fact is I suck it seems,,any help thx

 

you can use virtualdub. the guide is on the site. don't worry its short.

if you're using tmpgenc to encode it, you can use the source range tool
