Samba is used on Linux/Unix systems to allow these systems to access a Windows share/directory on a Windows 2000, XP etc computer.

    views so far

    pro's

like the epg on the front panel lcd
    support of Samba

    con's

freezes on my sagem AVIA 600 x2 very often
    channel changing slow
boot up time slower than previous Sportsters Images

I also upgraded the YWen to 2.5

so far its OK few issues with the freezing of box.. need to play around with the AVIA and UCode settings.

Hi guys (zappp64), i tried to flash the new 1.08 image but when booting up it still says image 1.02.

I havent noticed any differences yet so i think it might have not flashed correctly.

i used flash without bootloader and put the file in /tmp using ftp

how can i confirm im running the new image?

    cheers

I have fine tuned it for sagem 2x versiobn, at first it froze alot but with some tweaking and avia updates hasnt frozen at all

when you flash it, press blue button on remote and select LCd TV - rather cool if I say so myself..

worked this time, u sure the old image i downloaded the other day wasnt the 1.02 version? :D

for some reason i cant use the same services.xml and bouquets.xml file? seems odd to me?

guess im gonna have to rescan and reorder them all again :(

ohwell, atleast i got samba support now, NFS, CIFS and FTPFS just didnt work for me, even when i tried to connect to winXP, vista and a headless unix server ive got running at home!

finger's crossed i can connect to my shared video folder this time, 250GB of divx :) (all legal of course)

scanned all night long on brute force and got 303 transponders, 325 channels, but none of the channels work!

they all say channel not found why i try to view them. whats going on?

i know the box works because my old image worked fine

do i have to upload ucodes or anythig like that to the box? my old services.xml doesnt even work.

    cheers guys

have you set your location - press blue on remote and set the location and then do another scan.

just tried that, pressing blue doesnt give me no option to select location

i think ive done it, i have just flashed the four files below onto the box and overwrit the origional image ones (the files i used were ones that i backed up from the origional working image):

    avia500.ux
    avia600.ux
    cam-alpha.bin
    ucode.bin

    things are now working.

ok, iv'e fixed the fault, but what the hell do these files actually do??????

are they anything to do with programming the tuner? (i.e. drivers for the tuner?)

    cheers zappp64

Avia is a MPEG-2 Audio/Video Decoder Chip - It decodes the Transport stream that was generated by the Transport demultiplexer. It splits the stream into Video and Audio

CAM-Alphais for for Conditional Access Module and it defines the standard that is used to encrypt channels.

uCode is a firmware chip on the dBox
