I wasn't really sure where to post this, I tried doing a search but didn't get much back. I did find ASPI in the glossary but not SPTI (scsi passthrough interface), so I'll ask here since ir relates to the usuage of Shrink, Decrypter and almost any DVD drive related software.

Ok, I semi-sort-of understand what ASPI is, it controls your media drives basically right? My question is what is the difference between the two? My Decrypter defaults to SPTI which is signed by Microsoft, but I can't find anything ASPI (winaspi32.dll) or otherwise on my comp. Are they basically the same thing? I haven't had any problems using SPTI, was just curious if there was a big difference and if I should change over to ASPI instead?? Thxs!
