startup programs

    Hi
    Can any one please tell me how to stop a program from starting up when you open windows.

    If they aren't in your startup folder, programs that run on windows startup are usually found in one of the registry keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    a. Click Start
    b. Click Run
    c. In the box type msconfig
    d. Click OK
    e. Click on the Startup tab
    f. Deselect the ones do not want to start
    l. Click Apply
    m. Click Close
    n. Click on Restart
    o. After Restart you'll have a System Configuration Utility box pop up, check the box for
    "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows Starts"
    and click OK.

    To reset to normal
    a. Click Start
    b. Click Run
    c. In the box type msconfig
    d. Click OK
    e. Check the box for Normal Startup
