try a factory reset then scan all your channels back and turn emu on and put in the codes.

You say you have 2.55 firmware and if you do try this. Simple but I have seen it working. Turn of the SV from the power button at the back of the SV so no no power is going to it. Wait for 5 minutes and power back on. Only do this if you have 2.55 api installed.

Well I'm pretty clueless but looking for software (firmware?) to update my Starview box.Pretty sure it's not a clone.

If its not a clone then you will need the V4 firmware plus the gt rom loader and also you need a null modem cable to fransfer the file from your pc to your SV , be right back with a link to download them.

Great, have those downloaded. Again, completely clueless, do I just connect my laptop to my box and run the programmes??

    Loading software to the box

Plug the RS232 Null Modem lead into the back of the box and to your PC.

Plug the box into the mains and turn it on. It should display ON, time on the display (standby mode)

Double click and run the GT ROM which is the loading software (red Arrow)

Do not type anything into spaces

Make sure "App File Only" is selected

Now click the bin file button and browse to where you (saved the bin file you downloaded)

Double click the starview software file (the api/software file you downloaded)

Now click download (this will take a few minutes)

You will see it going from 0% up 100% on desktop and sv box

Wait until ( box pops up saying ) download complete

Your box is Now flashed with the firmware

Little tip to avoid getting caught in auto loop - Turn to an unencrypted channel before flashing and then put on standby - this always works for me

It is always a good idea not to run any other applications on pc, to minimize the risk of corruption during flash

Mo12.. When you go to Menu 1570 > You see provider ID , use your right arrow to scroll across to the provider you need , Make sure you enter the 00 data and press ok to store , then go back up to 01 and enter that data also , and ok to Store , when you exit out of that make sure your EMU key is ON .

LeslieB71, I have done that but when I do the scan, it still comes with "no programmes" found. In the box that says provider is N**. Is it supposed to be N** as I'm in EXC&* provider area in London?
