starview expert

anyone know, or is, a starview expert in birmingham who can come down to my place and fix up my starview box for me for a low price?

m8 whats wrong with the box. ?

 

some channels sometimes don't work. it has been working fine for the past 3 days but now sky sports 1, 2, 3 and xtra has gone, mutv has gone, and other channels such as nickelodeon and some uktv's have gone. im going to do a scan after resetting my box and finding new codes, if it doens't work ill get back on afterdawn.

 

yea do what u said.. make sure u use right provider too!
what firmware is on it at the mo?

 

i dont know what firmware...i dont even know what it means.

 

hit system info and see what api is .. should be something like v257e,or v400e or similar !

are there new ones? i have reset the box then done a scan but still no luck. i only get some channels.

 

are u in uk.( the codes are right if u are )
also u only need the codes for the provider in your area !
have u a starview or starview 'the box'
or is it a clone starview?

check all your codes as they have all to be entered to enable you to see all the channels check yours has not changed ok

 

yes they are all right. are there any new ones? i am totally helpless i don't know what to do now.

 

its a clone. i live in birmingham, uk. it is on the right provider, which is TW.

 

ok a clone ! u will need the new 257 fix for clones ..
anyway You can try a manual scan first for those channels.
hit menu. installation, manual scan , down frequency. then check if they come in !

 

but they don't. ALOT of channels are missing, and manually scanning them does not work.

 

ok , do u have a 'null modem cable' to attach box to pc ?

 

no i don't have one.

 

You need to get a null modem cable from maplins make sure you get the right one ok

 

if u want to put new firmware on it u will need a null moden cable !
But try going to the channel you cant get , then click menu manual scan , download freq. ( also check that your emu is on !)
